Brittany Yacko, LPC

Brittany Yacko, Therapist, Inner Courage Counseling

Brittany is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who engages in collaborative  treatment with the adult populations. In her style of authentic and  empathetic connection, Brittany aids in the development of resilience by bringing  underlying strengths into client awareness and revealing how such strengths can be  applied to heal from, or adjust to, personal hardship or change. Her specialties include:  anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, relationship distress, and career and life  transitions.

Prior to joining the ICC team, Brittany worked in multiple educational settings, serving  as an academic tutor, a mental health counselor in a college counseling and health center, a Counselor-in-Residence (CIR), and an Advisor and Career Coach. While working in  higher education, Brittany learned that the mental health and emotional wellness of  young adults is an ongoing challenge – one that has been exacerbated by the recent pandemic and restricts access to mental health services. Amid the stress and uncertainty, Brittany strives to create a culture of support so that all people feel respected, valued, and cared for during this truly difficult time.

As a therapist, Brittany recognizes that therapy and treatment is not one-size-fits-all. Just  as each person is unique, so, too, is the process of therapy. Utilizing an eclectic approach  to counseling, Brittany tailors each facet of the therapeutic experience to fit your specific  needs, personality, and strengths. Her passion is instilling hope and healing to those who  have been impacted by trauma, or other severe life stressors, and helping them restore their own sense of safety and stability. By integrating strength recognition and  development, Brittany’s aim is to help clients cultivate the skills necessary to overcome  adversity, allowing them develop a healthy self-awareness, identify destructive behaviors  as desperate attempts to cope with unhealed trauma, garner a greater sense of purpose,  and build confidence in navigating real-world situations and challenges.

"When getting in touch with someone to find a therapist I was emailed by Stacy Ramirez, she was very kind and helpful which was appreciated because I have never seen a therapist so I was unsure of the process. I had my first session with Beth Halterman, she made sure to introduce herself before the first session which i thought was very sweet because I was a bit nervous about seeking a therapist to begin with and seeing someone face to face for the first time without having ever spoken before would have made me a bit more nervous."

"Inner Courage Counseling has a lovely building that's warm and clean. My counselor was so good that when she started at Inner Courage I moved practices so I could stay with her. I would absolutely recommended them to anyone seeking counseling."

"I have always been hesitant about counseling especially when it involves my daughter. But I have to say Brittany Roback is absolutely amazing. My daughter has been seeing Brittany for about 6 months now and I have seen great improvements. Just after the first session I saw my daughter using skills Brittany had shown her. Brittany has always made sure to make my daughter and myself feel comfortable. My daughter sees it as a safe place when she sees Brittany."

"Inner Courage Counseling has really been there for me from the moment I first called and they continue to be. I have always struggled to find a counselor that I mesh well with and one that creates an environment that I feel encouraged to dedicate time for myself. I’ve learned things about myself that I never knew before and I’m excited because I know I will continue to. I truly feel like I am growing in a positive way after each session. That’s both exciting and encouraging for me."
