“Language shows us that naming an experience doesn’t give the experience more power, it gives us the power of understanding and meaning.” – Brene Brown
I characterize myself as altruistic, curious, and empathetic. Outside of counseling, I’m an avid reader and recreationalist. I enjoy entering into new worlds that novels provide and cherish the time that I can spend outside, engaging in recreational exercise.
It is my responsibility as the helping professional to fully understand you and the circumstances that led you to the counseling process from your perspective. I will collaborate with you to assess your current skill set and coping tools to address areas that need attention and improvement for you to achieve the goals you set forth. Using an integration of Person-Centered, Humanistic, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy techniques, we will establish a working therapeutic alliance focused on alleviating any adverse effects of your current circumstances while also working to achieve your life goals. Your courage and vulnerability will be honored and met with empathy. Combining the knowledge that I’ve acquired with your unique potential; we will collaborate with integrity and flexibility to bring you closer to mental health and well-being with every session.
