“Just breath. You are strong enough to handle your challenges, wise enough to find solutions to your problems and capable enough to do whatever needs to be done.” – Lori Deschene
I characterize myself as caring, understanding, and trustworthy. Outside of counseling, I recently learned that I enjoy exploring nature, going on walks, and running at nights.
As a counselor, I want to explore the client’s symptoms and discuss strategies when dealing with feelings of distress while maintaining professional boundaries. My ideal client is a child, teen, or adult coming into therapy with past trauma. The client does not trust anyone, nor do they enjoy talking to anyone. After creating a relationship with the client, I like to identify their struggles, frustration, and pain through play and work on communication and coping skills.
