Navigating and coping with the challenges of life and all of the emotions that come with it can be hard and most of us were never really taught how to do it effectively. We are often just expected to figure it out as we go, learning by example and through experience. It can leave us feeling stuck, alone, and unsatisfied. People often reach out for counseling services because they want something in their life to be different and they are struggling to figure out how to make that happen.
I believe my role is to provide a safe, supportive environment for personal growth as well as to share the techniques and concepts that I have learned to help you achieve your goals. I approach therapy with a focus on empathy, honesty, and trust. I am not an expert on you or your life and I won’t pretend to be; but I genuinely want to learn about who you are and your experience. I consider the quality of the therapeutic relationship to be what truly drives progress. I also believe that behind our most present concerns we are all ultimately searching for purpose and meaning in our lives and our values are our compass for navigating a more meaningful life. I am passionate about empowering clients by helping them to recognize their own strengths and values and I encourage you to take pride in your decision to improve the quality of your life by taking responsibility for your own mental health.
I have experience helping individuals ranging from adolescents to older adults with a variety of concerns such as anxiety, depression, adjustment, identity, relationships, trauma, chronic illness, and loss. I utilize evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to guide the process of helping you reach your goals.

Amanda is currently offering online counseling services. For virtual sessions, utilizing our HIPAA compliant platform, Amanda brings therapy to you in the safety of your home. When working issues such as E-Learning anxiety, family disruption, depression and behavior issues, the comfort of your home may be the best place to meet with Amanda to achieve the therapy goals you are looking to gain. This is where online virtual counseling becomes an additional asset for her to clinically work with you.
