Brittany Roback, Therapist, Inner Courage Counseling

Brittany Roback earned her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in children and adolescents from Lewis University in 2013. Although she enjoys using playful therapy techniques with children and adolescents, she enjoys working with individuals of all ages, including parents and families. Brittany has worked with a variety of issues, ranging from family issues such as divorce or parent-child disputes, to personal issues of anxiety, substance use, and behavioral concerns.
Brittany is also a Certified Alcohol and other Drug Counselor (CADC). Receiving her addictions certification in 2014, has assisted in helping teens and adults struggling with vaping and alcohol abuse to marijuana addiction.
Brittany has a variety of experience in working with clients struggling with grief. Whether it is a caretaker of a loved one who is ill or an individual struggling with loss in their life, She enjoys providing gentle guidance through the process towards inner peace.
Brittany considers herself an emotions-focused behaviorist. She prides herself on her ability to view one’s behavior, identify the purpose of said behavior through understanding the emotions behind them and the need that the behavior is attempting to achieve. Brittany truly loves working side-by-side with parents to establish achievable goals and plans to bring those goals to life. She is motivated by the guardian’s enthusiasm to receive assistance and willing to learn.
Brittany has worked within many school settings, helping to make mental health therapy consistent and assessible during the school day to students who may not have been able to receive services outside of school. She has worked in all grade levels in Valley View School district-365U (2016-2018) as well as West Aurora School District-129 (2013-2018) and East Aurora School District-131 (2012- 2018) offering individual and group therapy. She was able to experience, first hand, the struggles the student may have difficulty managing at school while working closely with school professionals to help the student to be successful.
“The reason I became a child therapist is because I was hopeful that I could be the person that stood at ‘The fork in the road of life’ for children and teens to navigate growing pains safely and effectively with the help I could provide them. Every adult can look back in their life to a time they wished they had a safe adult they could confide in for knowledge, skills, and support. I am passionate about providing those things to the kids and teens that touch my life in the counseling environment.” -Brittany Roback, LCPC, CADC
