    How I Help my Clients:

I characterize myself as passionate, excitable, and nonjudgmental.  Outside of counseling I love competitive video games, so I play them and watch them regularly in my free time. I like to keep informed on the latest titles and have played many of the classics.  I am also a huge fan of animation from Riot’s Arcane to seasonal anime. The expression of artists in animation is something I find truly magical. I have a love for swimming as I was a competitive swimmer for around 16 years of my life and went on to teach swim lessons to children.

I bring strong compassion and listening skills to sessions where clients are allowed to share their stories while feeling heard. I empower my client’s confidence when they may feel inadequate. I have worked with individuals from highly marginalized groups such as individuals with severe mental illness and members of the LGBT community while working in counseling and private behavioral health environments that have helped me to understand their struggles on a personal basis. My philosophy background from undergraduate helps me facilitate conversation on multiple levels. This may range from conversations about exploring our emotions to ones talking about the meaning of our existence. I work primarily through gestalt therapy and emotion focused therapy focusing on techniques that prioritize change and focus on how we can learn to live on a more moment to moment basis while better understanding our emotions as they arise.
