I characterize myself as passionate, excitable, and nonjudgmental. As someone who has worked with individuals who have severe mental illness, I have gained an understanding of this population and the tenacity required to work with treatment-resistant cases. My experiences in the field have helped me connect with a wide range of clients, including children, teens, adults, couples, and members of the LGBT community. In my sessions, I bring strong compassion and listening skills, ensuring that clients feel heard when they share their stories. I also empower my clients confidence when they may feel inadequate. Often, clients come to me after they believe they have exhausted all options for change on their own. In these situations, I provide a safespace for them to identify what is keeping them stuck. This is regularly tied to motivation, trauma, and when they are triggered within their relationships and are unsure of what to do.
My background in philosophy from my undergraduate studies helps me facilitate conversations on multiple levels. These conversations can range from exploring our emotions to discussing the meaning of our existence. When appropriate, I also incorporate my knowledge of video games and anime to help clients break down the complexities of the changes they want to make in their lives
